Exterior & ColorsÂ
The 2023 Chevy Colorado is the smallest of the three trucks. It measures 213" L x 74-77" W x 79-82" H. This truck includes 17" wheels. In comparison, the 2023 Chevy Silverado measures 230-241" L x 81" W x 75-78" H with 17-22" wheels. At the larger end of the spectrum, the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD measures 236-266" L x 82" W x 80" H and includes 17-20" wheels. With these trucks, you can choose from a variety of color options.Â

Interior Design & SeatingÂ
The 2023 Chevy Colorado only comes as a Crew Cab, with space to hold five people. When choosing the Chevy Silverado or HD lineup, you can choose two or four door designs, holding three to six people.
Infotainment & FeaturesÂ
There are plenty of high-tech features in all of the Chevy trucks. The new Colorado includes an 11.3" touch screen, satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a six-speaker sound system. With the 2023 Chevy Silverado, you get a 7" touch screen, two USB ports, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The new Silverado HD also includes the latest Infotainment system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Cargo CapacityÂ
The 2023 Chevy Colorado has a 5'2" bed that can haul a maximum of 1,684 pounds. In comparison, the 2023 Chevy Silverado offers a 5.10', 6.7', and 8.2' bed with a maximum capacity of 2,280 pounds. If you want maximum hauling capacity, consider the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500HD in the Regular Cab configuration to carry up to 7,442 pounds.Â

Towing CapacityÂ
The Chevy Colorado may be a midsize truck, but it can still tow a maximum of 7,700 pounds. With the 2023 Chevy Silverado, expect a maximum tow rating up to 13,300 pounds. Additionally, the 2023 Chevy Silverado HD (gas) has a maximum tow rating of 17,400 pounds, while the diesel truck can pull up to 36,000 pounds.
Drivetrain & SuspensionÂ
All three of these Chevy truck lineups are available with either RWD or 4WD. Additionally, there are some off-road models to choose from if you need a beefier suspension and better gear.
EngineÂ
The 2023 Chevy Colorado includes a 2.7L twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine that outputs 237 to 310 horsepower, depending on the trim level. With the 2023 Chevy Silverado lineup, you can choose from the turbo-four, a V8, or a 3.0L Duramax diesel inline-six, ranging between 310 and 420 horsepower. With the HD lineup, there's a 6.6L V8 or 6.6L diesel V8 outputting between 401 and 445 horsepower.Â

Performance & MPGÂ
The 2023 Chevy Colorado lineup is efficient because of the four-cylinder engine. With RWD, expect 20/25 mpg, but the 4WD also produces 19/23 mpg. If you prefer the Chevy Silverado, you'll find the best fuel economy rating with the diesel engine at 23/33 mpg. We don't have estimates on the HD lineup, but the diesel is going to be the better option.
Safety Features
It doesn't matter which Chevy truck you choose, there are tons of ways to customize the equipment so you feel protected. While there are standard features with all three lineups, we recommend prioritizing what equipment is most important to you.
Ratings & Reviews
We don't have safety ratings on the 2023 Chevy Colorado, but Car and Driver says, "No matter the job, the Colorado now has the advantage in terms of power and tech over other senior citizens in the aging mid-size segment, such as the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Honda Ridgeline." The 2023 Chevy Silverado earned some good ratings from the IIHS, plus Car and Driver says, "The Chevy Silverado is as tough as rocks, but compared to other full-size pickups, its ride and interior trimmings are a little too jagged." While there are no safety ratings on the Silverado HD either, Car and Driver says, "The biggest Chevy on the planet doesn't disappoint as both the 2500HD and 3500HD pickups never hesitate to get the hard work done."Â
