Interior Design & Seating

The Blazer EV and Equinox EV have two rows of seats to hold five people. The only difference between these and the gas-powered models is that the Equinox has one less row.

Infotainment & Features

The Chevy Blazer EV includes a standard 17.7" infotainment display with 11" driver gauges. This model also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can expect the same standard features with the Chevy Equinox EV, except the infotainment display measures 11".

Cargo Capacity

The Chevy Blazer EV may have the same cargo space as the gas model, around 31 and 64 cubic feet, respectively. However, the Equinox EV is expected to have less cargo space than its gas-powered counterpart.

Towing Capacity

While we don't have all the specs yet, the Blazer EV PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) can tow up to 3,500 pounds so we may see something similar. The Equinox EV is also rated for up to 1,500 pounds of towing.

Drivetrain & Suspension

Both the Chevy Blazer EV and Equinox EV come standard with front-wheel drive. However, some of the trim levels include all-wheel drive.

Engine & Battery

While Chevy hasn't told us what the Blazer EV will be equipped with, we know the SS will include a 557-horsepower electric powertrain with all-wheel drive. As far as the Equinox EV, it comes standard with a single motor rated for 210 horsepower. Changing to the all-wheel drive system increases the horsepower to 290.

Performance, Range, & MPG

We have yet to determine the Chevy Blazer EV battery pack sizes but understand that the RS will have the most extended driving range of 320 miles. Chevrolet also says it will charge up to 190kW and give 78 miles of range in ten minutes. The Chevy Equinox EV comes standard with a 250-mile driving range on the base model. The larger battery packs can offer up to 300 miles. In just ten minutes, these models can add 70 miles of range.

Safety Features

Both models will come standard with pedestrian detection, automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning. Plus, you can add other features, such as adaptive cruise control or hands-free driving functions.

Ratings & Reviews

Because these electric SUVs have yet to be on the road, there have yet to be any safety tests. However, automotive publications are excited about these models. Car and Driver says this about the Blazer EV, "Take solace in the SS trim, which offers 557 horsepower and is said to be capable of hitting 60 mph in less than four seconds." Car and Driver further adds this information, "The Equinox EV's exterior styling blends futuristic touches with more traditional crossover design cues, and it looks pretty cool."
