Make sure you buy an extended warranty
By Pilot_Reviewer | on Tuesday, July 16, 2019
The 5th Honda in our family and 3rd Pilot, and unfortunately our last. Despite great styling, lots of good features (which requires the ‘Elite’ model), very comfortable ride, and surprisingly good fuel economy, that legendary Japanese reliability has clearly faded. At just over 50K miles the fuel injectors needed replacing - a $1500 repair if we hadn’t bought the $1700 extended warranty, and at just over 60K miles the A/C compressor failed (on a boiling hot day while we were out of state of course) which was a $2000 repair without the warranty.… - 2.0
Popping Noise
By E | on Monday, April 27, 2020
Honda needs to figure out there infotainment problem. Loud popping and crackle noise from the speakers sounds like the windshield is cracking. Does it with the radio and climate control off or on. Completely annoying and Honda does not have a solution. The noise is LOUD, not enjoyable to drive in. Do not recommend… - 3.0
Must be a Ford disguised as a Honda
By Nick | on Saturday, September 05, 2020
Bought the 2020 Pilot back in December. After a month or so, the crackling noise started. Drives me nuts. Honda knows about it but seems they are reluctant to issue a fix. I'm taking it in on 9/8 to have it repaired. Supposed wire harness is the problem. Sad that a vehicle with less then 7K miles needs to be torn apart. Second problem and very concerning is the CMBS. It often goes off with approaching vehicles. On a 20 mile trip it may go off 12 times. First time it happened, I was startled because there was no imminent collision. I addressed it with the dealership and received all kinds of excuses. Problem is, if it constantly activates for no reason, a person may become numb to the problem and ignore when there really is an emergency. This is a safety issue. Sorry I bought the vehicle. Should have stuck with Toyota.…
